Commercial Real Estate Photographer

In the competitive world of real estate marketing, securing the ideal commercial real estate photographer can be a challenge.

Each property possesses unique selling points, and every photographer brings their distinct style and expertise to the table.

Therefore, navigating this transaction demands a keen eye for detail and a comprehensive understanding of your property's target audience.

Whether it's sleek office spaces, bustling retail centers, or large apartment complexes the right photographer has the power to transform your property into a compelling visual narrative that resonates with potential tenants or buyers.

So, how do you choose the right photographer for your project?

Here are 3 key components to keep in mind.

1) Review their work

Staging

Unfortunately, most office spaces are quite cluttered due to daily use. Though some clutter can be used to show that the space is being used, a good commercial photographer will remove any additional distracting office material from the shot.

Staging also entails arranging furniture to look more flattering in an image to better show off a room which leads to my next point, composition.

Composition

Rearranging furniture and tidying up is only half the battle the other half is knowing what angle to look for.

The ideal image for commercial real estate will capture selling points such as views from the space, amenities, and space size.

2) Are they Part 107 certified?

In 2024 it is a must for a commercial property photographer to be Part 107 certified by the FAA. This certification allows them to fly a drone commercially. Drone images are necessary for all large properties to show the size of the complex and their relationship to the surrounding city’s shops and landmarks.

3) Professionalism and Communication

Though the majority of photographing a commercial space is taking images, another key aspect is being able to plan a shoot via email, communicate with new people on site, and ask the right questions about the property.

Though there are other factors to consider when looking for a commercial real estate photographer these are some of the most important to achieve your desired outcome.
